The new red button on the MXS 5.0 isn't just for looks. The charger has been upgraded internally to include a temperture sensor to ensure the unit doesn't run too hot if being used to fully recharge a flat battery. Internally at CTEK this unit was refered to as the MXS 5.0T but because it's the same feature set and power and purpose as the original CTEK decided to leave the model numbers that we all know alone so not to confuse people. Just be sure if you are buying a MXS 5.0 today that it is the RED buttoned model.
